4. Makaravilakku: Makaravilakku is an important festival celebrated at the Sabarimala Temple, dedicated to Lord Ayyappa. It takes place during the Makar Sankranti festival in January. Pilgrims gather to witness the lighting of the Makaravilakku, a celestial light, on top of the nearby Ponnambalamedu hill. 5. Theyyam: Theyyam is a unique ritualistic dance form and religious festival prominent in the northern part of Kerala.
